Elmentem egy buliba, Anyu, és emlékszem a szavaidra. Megkértél,
hogy ne rúgjak be, így hát nem ittam semmi alkoholt.
Büszke voltam, Anyu, ahogyan azt előtte megmondtad. Nem ittam
alkoholt vezetés előtt, Anyu, amiért a többiek gúnyolódtak is
velem.
Tudtam, hogy igazad volt, Anyu, és hogy neked mindig igazad
van. A buli lassan véget ért, Anyu, és mindenki haza
indult.
Ahogy az autóhoz léptem, Anyu, tudtam, hogy épségben haza
fogok érni: nevelésed alapján - felelősségteljesen és büszkén!
Lassan mentem, Anyu, és bekanyarodtam egy kis utcába. De a másik
sofőr nem vett észre, és frontálisan belém hajtott.
Ahogy fekszem itt a járdán, Anyu, hallom a rendőröket, amint
mondják, hogy a másik sofőr ivott. És most én vagyok az,
akinek ezért meg kell fizetnie!
Itt fekszem, haldoklom, Anyu, kérlek siess! Hogy történhet
ez meg velem? Az életem kipukkan, mint egy lufi! Körülöttem
minden tiszta vér, Anyu, és a legtöbb az én saját
vérem. Hallom, az orvos azt mondja, Anyu, hogy már nem
tud segíteni rajtam.
Csak azt akarom mondani, Anyu, esküszöm, tényleg semmit sem ittam. A többiek voltak, Anyu, akik semmivel sem
törődtek.
Valószínüleg a másik sofőr is egy ilyen buliban volt, mint én, Anyu.
Egyetlen különbség van csupán: ő volt az, aki részeg volt, és én
vagyok az, aki most meg fog halni!
Miért isznak az emberek, Anyu? Ez az egész életüket tönkreteszi!
Erős fájdalmaim vannak, mint a késszúrás, olyan erősek! A férfi,
aki belém jött, Anyu, körbe-körbe szaladgál, én pedig itt fekszem,
és haldoklom. Ő meg csak néz rám hülyén!
Mondd meg a bátyámnak, hogy ne sírjon, Anyu. És mondd meg Apunak,
hogy legyen most bátor. És ha már a mennyországban leszek, Anyu,
írasd a sírkövemre: "Apja lánya".
Valaki mondhatta volna neki, Anyu, hogy ne igyon, ha vezet. Ha
mondta volna neki valaki, Anyu, most nem kellene meghalnom.
Már alig kapok levegőt, Anyu, és nagyon félek. Kérlek ne sírj
miattam, Anyu. Mindig ott voltál, amikor szükségem volt rád!
Mielőtt elmegyek, van egy utolsó kérdésem, Anyu:
